About Us

A bit of history...

Hello and thank you for stopping by! It’s Chloe here, the hands and heart behind Wool and Works. I’m a civil engineer with a love of all things craft so I launched W&W in late 2020 from my bedroom in Melbourne, Australia.

My gorgeous nanna taught me to knit when I was quite little. She didn't have a lot of money but one day she took me to the Mansfield Market and bought me two skeins of alpaca yarn and taught me to knit a scarf. I remember she drilled into me how much money she spent so I made sure I perfected that scarf and listened to every word! But what she didn't know was that she had just started a lifetime passion of mine in knitting and fibre crafts. My darling nanna passed away in 2010 but every time I pick up the needles I have a little minute to think of her.

Like many small businesses these days, I began W&W during the pandemic as I was at home alone with nothing to do. After brainstorming name ideas for a few hours, I eventually settled on Wool and Works and created an insta page. As I started posting pics of my knitting and resin creations, people asked if they could buy some. I was a little surprised as I had never intended to sell anything and I was a complete beginner with resin! Flash to now and I’m selling hand dyed yarn and resin items to beautiful people like yourself all around the world. I pinch myself every day wondering how I got here.

I’m currently still engineering but know that W&W will be full time one day and that’s super exciting. I couldn’t do any of this without you so I’m extremely grateful. There’s not really words I can say that express how much this all means to me.
So again, thank you for stopping by and I hope you find something you love. Please reach out if you’d like to chat about anything! I’m always available.

Thanks for being your awesome self!

Chloe

Special Mention

If you follow my instagram page @woolandworks then I'm sure you know who this special mention is for. To my legend of a dad, aka Papa W+W, who labels yarn, peels rainbow stitch markers and most importantly listens to my daily rants and loves me a bunch. Thanks for being the best dad and helping me start my small biz
